Long tradition and dedication
Clínica Barroso has a long tradition of dedication to dentistry, solving the oral problems of thousands of patients during its more than 70 years of presence in Girona.
In 1949, Dr Enric Barroso i Baixerias, after completing his studies in dentistry at the University of Madrid, opened the first clinic located at the beginning of Carrer del Carme, next to Plaça Catalunya in Girona. Also for a few years Clínica Barroso treated patients in the municipality of Banyoles.
After a long and successful career, the doctor's work activity began to decrease and it is at this moment that the second generation of specialists takes over. After completing his studies in medicine and specializing in stomatology at the University of Barcelona, in 1983 Dr Enric Barroso i Bosch opened new facilities in the center of Girona, specifically in Carrer Cor de Maria. In 2010, with the recent addition to the team of doctors Cristina and Albert Barroso, third generation professionals dedicated to dentistry, it was necessary to move to the modern and spacious facilities located in the Químics district of Girona.
This neighborhood is known historically for the presence of an important Girona factory “Indústrias químicas y tartáricas” (which was in full operation in the 60s and to whom it owes its name), where a large chimney still rises in the exact location where there was the factory originally.
In the new facilities located in this neighborhood, at Pujada Creu de Palau 11-13, from 2010 until today, the most advanced technology is available, and what is more important, a highly qualified human team with the highest self-demanding to offer the best solutions to the oral health problems of Girona patients who keep trusting in Clínica Barroso.
